These races are all tough. We would rate any of them at a 7 or 8 difficulty level with 10 being the most difficult. I can only rate the trail runs up against trail races I have done. Mountain races are tougher because of altitude, summer races are tougher because of the heat. I am comparing these trails to other trail runs I have done in comparable weather around Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, and Texas. This comparison is only for runners who have never run the Post Oak Lodge Challenge so you know this is not a walk in the park on a nice, smooth, chat trail with public restrooms and fresh water every mile. The question you must ask yourself is, "AM I UP FOR THE TRC POSTOAK CHALLENGE?". Bring trail shoes and plan to run on trails with roots, rocks, trees, water crossings, anything and everything you would expect to find in the woods. Did I mention the hills? This is Osage County, Oklahoma, I don't believe there is a flat place out there. ARE YOU STILL UP FOR THE TRC POSTOAK CHALLENGE?

The Trail 50k will be on March 7, 2015 at 8:00 am. All entrants will receive a long sleeved technical shirt, a Finisher's Medallion, and food and drink in the POSTOAK Lodge. The POSTOAK Challenge Trail 50K, 25K, 10K is not a walk in the park, these are trails in the woods and it is not for the faint at heart. This is the TRC POSTOAK Challenge. The trails are a combination of less than a mile of existing gravel roads, old farm roads, a couple of chat trails, and miles and miles of single track trail winding through meadows and deep woods. As hard as we have tried there is no avoiding the hills of Osage County. It is a beautiful course with a little bit of everything. There are rocky areas, creek crossings, and a good chance of mud on the trail, but for the most part it is the hills that will give you the best workout. For this reason we have raised the difficulty rating to a seven (out of ten). If you plan to run this one fast then you need to train for hills, lots of hills.

The POSTOAK Challenge Trail-Road Marathon, Half Marathon, and Quarter Marathon will be run on part road and the remainder is run on trail surfaces. The road sections will be either logging road, gravel, or paved road. The trail section will be single track trails for the most part. There will be plenty of hills for everyone to enjoy, and you will all finish by running up the world famous "HILL FROM HELL". Welcome to the TRC POSTOAK Challenge!

The POSTOAK Challenge Trail-Road Quarter Marathon will be one loop on part single track trails and part roads. It will be as close to half trail and half road as we can get it. This is a very scenic run through the wooded POSTOAK Lodge property and the Oklahoma Centennial Botanical Garden. You will finish the run by climbing the "HILL FROM HELL". Welcome to the TRC POSTOAK Challenge! !

The POSTOAK Challenge Trail-Road Half Marathon will be a very nice but difficult mix of single track trails and either paved or gravel roads. These roads and trails run through the Post Oak Lodge property and the Oklahoma Centennial Botanical Garden. You will finish the run by climbing the "HILL FROM HELL". Welcome to the TRC POSTOAK Challenge!!

The POSTOAK Challenge Trail-Road Full Marathon will be run on the same route as the Half Marathon. You will get to run the Half Marathon loop a second time and then you will finish by running up the famous "HILL FROM HELL". There will be a Bag Drop for the Marathon at the Start/Finish line, the half way point for the Marathon.

The 10K will be one loop, the 25K will be one continuous loop. The 50K will run the 25K route twice, including the Hill From Hell. Double your pleasure. The Marathon, Half Marathon, and Quarter Marathon will be run on single track trails, paved, and gravel roads. All races will start and finish in front of the POSTOAK Lodge.

We will also have the Hill From Hell awards again this year. This award is cut out in the shape of our famous Hill From Hell and it is large. We will present this award to the top three male and female combined times in the 50k-Marathon Double.

The Doubler award for 2015 will also be hand cut from wood, it is in the shape of an oak tree leaf. The 50k-Marathon Doublers will get a double sized Doubler award that will have the races cut into the base.

The last place award for the 50k and 26.2 will be our largest award, we will have more information on this award as the run date gets closer. We are considering calling this very special award the "Most Enduring" award. This will be for the last person, male or female, who finish the 50k and the Marathon. If someone decides to sit down and wait so they can claim the award, they will be disqualified. You must keep moving and making an effort to finish. We will have race officials following each event to make sure all is kept honest and fair.
